Renewing Your Wedding Vows
Congratulations on your life together ... but wait ... there's more !

Getting married was a blessed day in your lives, so why limit the experience to just one celebration? Whether you've been married for one year, 10 years or multiple decades, hosting a "Renewal of Wedding Vows" is a beautiful way to honour your relationship and re-commit to your spouse.

In the past, vow renewals were traditionally held on 'milestone' wedding anniversaries, but a vow renewal can be celebrated whenever you want.

Whether you're looking for vow renewal ideas or you're not sure of the logistics, David is more than happy to share exactly what you need to know.

What is a Vow Renewal?

Why do people renew their vows?

When to renew your vows?

What is the cost of Vow Renewal?

Do we have input
into our ceremony?

What about music?

Can photos be taken during the Renewal?

Are there times when we cannot book a Renewal?

How many guests
can we have?

What do we do next?

A vow renewal is a ceremony of celebration and recommitment where a married couple reaffirms their marriage vows to each other.

Reasons vary among couples, but a vow renewal is simply a way to celebrate your marriage and recommit to your partner. Some choose to renew their vows on a milestone anniversary, like the 10-year or 20-year mark, while others prefer to honour their wedding day more frequently, on a yearly basis.

Renewal can take place any time after your actual wedding, from the next day to 30 years later. Some couples don't want to renew too soon or too often, while others renew every year. Ultimately, the choice is completely up to you.

Consider reaffirming your wedding vows on one of these momentous dates:

  • 5-year wedding anniversary

  • 10-year wedding anniversary

  • 25-year wedding anniversary

  • 50-year wedding anniversary

  • Whenever you want to!

The fee for a Vow Renewal is NZ$250 which includes all pre-service administration, presiding at the ceremony, issuance of a certificate etc.

The Renewal Service is taken from the NZ Anglican Prayer Book, but there is flexibility in the choice of prayers, readings, music etc. that you may wish to have.

All these, and more, can be discussed with David.

Your Renewal ceremony usually takes 30 minutes. If you need more time, just please ask David.

Our organist\pianist can be available to play at your ceremony.

You may wish to include music in your ceremony, just discuss your musical requests with David
